Thursday Madness

Doesn't this picture scare you? This is how I feel about buying people gifts on Christmas!

So.. quick question to everyone. If you are saving over $2,000 a month, would you still splurge and buy yourself some boots for $72? Speaking hypothetically here. The weird thing is that I feel guilty for even THINKING about buying myself something. I know I should be looking into buying experiences and not material goods, but I am definitely the type of person that appreciates a good pair of shoes over a 5-star restaurant.

And one day... I will have a PINK Christmas tree...

If you are saving that much and want boots, I say go for it. At first I read it as $722 boots, and then I wouldn't do it. But boots for $72 is a good price. I bought new winter boots and they were $89, or $101 after taxes. They WERE needed because D's dog ate my other pair!

That's why personal finance is personal, I too would take a pair of boots over a 5-star restaurant meal any day. If you like them and you have money for them, why not?

Thanks for your comments everyone. I haven't bought anything for myself since this savings kick started.. I'm just afraid it will open the floodgates and then I will be justifying useless purchases again... I am still thinking about getting the boots because I don't think I *need* them...
