Today is payday, hooray! (Anyone seeing the payroll tax increase yet?! I did!)
Today is Friday, hooray x2!
I'm going to see my family in LA this weekend, hooray x3!
Sick of my hoorays yet? Haha, yeah I am too..
This week has been really busy for me in terms of work and life. I think everyone is off their "holiday vacation mode" and back into action, which results in everyone picking up the slack and being stressed out about it. I also decided to finally start my 24-hour fitness gym membership this week. I mapped out a schedule of classes for myself from Monday-Friday since they have locations near my work, my house and a bunch within a 10 mile radius. I'm really excited since I love group exercise classes! I also get to take a long lunch on Mondays and Fridays to take pilates (my fave!) and Turbo Kick (anyone try this at 24 hour?).
On Wednesday, my boyfriend received an offer for his dream job at his dream company! We were excited to say the least and I am so glad things are looking up for him. He is still in the same industry but his current company doesn't have a favorable environment. He has the title he wants (Project Manager) at the company he has interviewed at 3 times since graduating college (2007). When he first graduated they said his GPA wasn't high enough! I guess 3rd time's a charm....and I am really happy for him. He gives me hope (and hopefully you too!) that if there is something you really want, go for it and don't give up... anything is possible!
If you remember, Goal #4 for 2011 was to force BF to start a 401k. I'm happy to say I don't have to since his new company will be automatically putting 2% into one at Vanguard for them. In addition they will contribute 45% of his contributions, which will motivate him to contribute more. I'm hoping he will put in as much as he can to get his free money!
On the financial side of things, I haven't been spending much this week. I'll be transferring a bunch to savings today since I don't have anything major to pay for. Since I'm going to the OC this weekend, my mom will want to go to the mall and I don't want to be tempted if I have money in my checking account. Out of sight, out of mind!
