I am usually pretty positive and chipper on this blog so I do apologize for another depressing post (though not as bad as my last one). I appreciate everyone's motivating comments and even how some of you shared how you didn't get into your first law school choice, and how things worked out for the best. I'm sure that this is meant to be and I am staying focused on my study plan (back-up plan) to keep me sane and to keep me from feeling like a failure.
But I was also distracted because of the condo we were about to close on. We had an inspection on Saturday morning and everything went well. We were ecstatic and taking measurements, talking to neighbors, having our dog meet the neighbors' dogs, etc. Everything looked fine and there were only some minor cosmetic items to fix. At the last moment before we were about to leave and after we signed the final paperwork, my BF decided to open up the air duct. Turns out it went all the way down and underneath the foundation, and there was water in there! Lots of it. No one lived in the property for the last few years, so it could have come from anywhere - the upstairs tenant, the rain because we are at the bottom of a slope, anything at all. Yet, because the condo is older, they used galvanized pipes which erode easily (we did a lot of research). There was rust and you could even tell that the water had gone more than halfway up. We consulted a professional and without even looking at the pics we took, they told us that it was pretty bad. We would have to replace the pipe..which is in the concrete and under the foundation... and find out where the water is coming from. It would cost way too much money; over $10k for sure. We don't want to waste our time and anyone else's time so we decided that we will back out. This was possibly a blessing in disguise but now we are back to square one. There is a place for us out there... I hope we find you soon!
Feels like I'm back at square one in a lot of aspects of my life right now but I will keep truckin'... hope everyone else had a better weekend than me :)
